If it does not break the law, and could potentially interest someone, then yes!
Radiodiodi has had programmes from satanic worship to Christian content and from music analysis to storytelling. Technically, a programme can include speech, pre-recorded music, live music, freestyle rap, DJ sets, and sound effects.
Note: If your programme includes anything other than music playback and speaking, please contact the editorial team in advance.
- How many people can fit in the studio?
In addition to the producer, Radiodiodi's studio broadcast table can accommodate approximately six (6) people. However, there are only five (5) microphones available, so please plan your programme accordingly.
- What music can I play?
You can play any legally acquired music, such as CDs, vinyl records, cassettes, and self-produced works. Songs purchased from sources like iTunes Finland or Bandcamp are also acceptable. Streaming services are not acceptable sources, so platforms like Spotify or YouTube are not available. If you want your own CDs to be easily accessible in our music library, bring them to the studio for copying at least three (3) days before your programme. We will return your CDs after your programme.
If you wish, you can also provide a separate list of songs that you would like the editorial team to acquire for your programme from the Play Store or iTunes. We do not promise to buy more than single songs per show. In case you have several wishes, we’ll inform you.
- What am I not allowed to do on the radio?
Do not play the aforementioned illegal content, and do not be an idiot.
Radiodiodi does not broadcast programmes containing racism, sexism, ableism, transphobia or homophobia. The editorial team has the right to interrupt a programme if misconduct occurs.
- What kinds of technical options are there on the broadcast?
The studio has extensive capabilities to play audio using various devices, according to your needs. This includes:
- All music from the music library can be played during the broadcast
- We provide a DJ mixer with a CD deck and two vinyl decks
If you are doing anything other than a pure talk show or playing from the available audio sources, always contact us in advance. Also, feel free to contact us if you are unsure about anything. You can reach the editorial team at toimitus@radiodiodi.fi.
- How are advertisements played?
Advertisements are played during all daytime programmes. The producer is responsible for playing these, but please allocate approximately five (5) minutes per hour of your programme for advertisements and jingles.
- What is a jingle?
A jingle is a short audio snippet that tells what radio station you are listening to. For example: “You are listening to Radio Nova on frequency 106.2.” These are also played by the producer during your programme, usually together with advertisements.
- Can I save or record my programme somehow?
We recommend making your own recording. For legal reasons we cannot share recordings afterwards.
- Can I pre-record a programme?
Yes, this is possible. Inform us of this when you book your programme slot. You can also notify us of any changes to your programme format at studio@radiodiodi.fi.
- Can I do a remote broadcast?
This is also possible. Please inform us of this when you book your programme slot. You can also notify us of any changes to your programme format at studio@radiodiodi.fi.
- What is a producer?
The producer is responsible for the technical aspects of the broadcast, allowing the creators to focus on making the programme itself. The producer handles things like microphone volume and playing jingles, advertisements and music. The producer is present during the broadcast and the producers can also participate in making the programme or even make the programme entirely themselves. All of this can be arranged with the producer before the broadcast.
- I might be interested in being a producer. How can I learn more about it?
The dates of the producer trainings will be announced later. Send a message to studio@radiodiodi.fi and join the official Telegram channels so you don't miss any important announcements!
